Today, November 1st, it is held the World Vegan Day, a movement which nowadays is rising everywhere and it’s winning more followers every time.
What is Veganism?
Veganism is a way of life based on the NO consumption of any food coming from animals, as fish, milk, eggs, meat… The advocates of this lifestyle firmly believe that animals have to be respected in the same way as humans. In addition, the use of any product/material in which animals have been involved, it is forbidden.
Why there is a Veganism Day?
Before creating the “veganism” expression, there was already the Vegetarian Society, bornt in 1847. The President of the UK’s Society, Louise Wallis, decided to create this day in 1994 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of this institution. The purpose of the day is to let everyone know another way of nutrition and a different lifestyle, to spread the reasons why you should become vegan by protecting the animals.
